Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry offers a variety of options to enhance the appearance of your smile. Here are some popular treatments:

Teeth Whitening

This procedure helps to remove stains and discoloration from teeth, resulting in a brighter smile. It can be done at the dental practice or at home using professional-grade products prescribed to you by your dentist

Dental Veneers

Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain or resin that are bonded to the front surface of teeth. They can improve the colour, shape, size, or length of your teeth, providing a natural-looking and attractive smile. Typically they last for 10 years before they may need replacing but this is dependant on how well they are cared for.

Dental Bonding

Bonding involves applying a tooth-coloured resin material to repair chipped, cracked, or misshapen teeth. It is a cost-effective alternative to veneers and can also be used to replace silver fillings.

Dental Crown

A dental crown is a cap that covers and restores the appearance and functionality of a damaged tooth. It can also be used for cosmetic purposes to address misshapen or severely discoloured teeth.

Inlays and Onlays

These restorations are used when a tooth has mild to moderate decay or damage and in place of fillings. Inlays are placed within the centre of a tooth, while onlays covers one or more points of the tooth or the biting surface. They are custom-made and provide a natural-looking solution to preserve healthy tooth structure.

Bridges

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth by anchoring them to adjacent healthy teeth. They can therefore replace numerous missing teeth as long as there is an adjacent tooth that the bridge can be fitted onto.  Crowns and bridges can be made in a variety of different materials such as porcelain fused to metal which recommended at the back of the mouth. Zirconium or Emax crowns and veneers are very popular as they contain no metal and are very translucent and therefore best mimic a natural tooth.

These treatments can significantly improve the aesthetics of your smile, and you can consult with a dentist to determine the best option for your specific needs.

Overdentures

As much as everyone would like to have fixed bridges, not everyone is suitable for this procedure as a fixed full arch bridge or all-on-4 requires significant routine maintenance, it may also require bone grafting in cases where there is a lack of bone. The ideal alternative to this a semi fixed bridge supported on implants, otherwise known as an implant supported overdenture. This solution is perfect as the patient simply clips the overdenture to the implants abutments (the connecting part) and the overdenture is stable in the mouth and does not fall out like traditional dentures. It will just need to be removed by the patient when cleaning but otherwise it can be left in overnight following cleaning.
